Over the past four years Jordan has:
Secured the expansion of Halkett Bay Marine Provincial Park
on Gambier Island.
Championed the environment
as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of the Environment and brought the Howe Sound Cumulative Effects Framework to the region - a process that will assess the effects of all activities to avoid unintended consequences and impacts in Howe Sound and the communities surrounding it.
Facilitated local government meetings with Cabinet Ministers
and key provincial government staff to help municipalities in the riding address matters as diverse as transportation, land use, housing, childcare, park development and more.
Secured funding for specialized nursing staff
to conduct Forensic Sexual Assault examinations at the Squamish General Hospital to ensure that victims in the Sea to Sky Corridor can access comprehensive medical exams without having to travel to the Lower Mainland.
Led the cross-sector Climate Leadership Team
as Chair during the development of the province's Climate Leadership Plan and thereafter as Chair of the Provincial Round Table on the Environment and the Economy.
Secured funding for improvements to the Sea to Sky Highway
to increase safety, including new paving throughout the region; establishing the Variable Speed Corridor from Squamish to Whistler to adjust speed limits depending on conditions; and making cycling safety improvements such as lane widening, additional road sweeping and more "share the road" signage.
Jordan currently serves as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of the Environment.
He attended the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 22) Low-Emissions Solutions Conference in Marrakech and was proud to receive one of 13 ‘Momentum for Change’ awards which recognized British Columbia’s revenue neutral carbon tax.
Jordan was previously the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure and led consultations in the fall of 2014 with stakeholders and local government across the Province as part of the development of BC’s ten year transportation plan - BC On The Move.
Jordan also led the community engagement and consultation sessions for the Sunshine Coast Fixed Link Feasibility Study in the fall of 2016.
